Rescue Classes
Rope Rescue: This class is taught to National Fire Protection Administration (NFPA) standards, an OSHA recognized authority in rescue operations. Upon completion of this class participants will be able to participate as members of a rope rescue team. The class is very technical with a large amount of information covered in a short time. Participants will learn the job of each position required to have a rope rescue team: Incident Commander, Rigger, Safety Officer, Edge Monitor, Team Leader, Rescuer. The class is 40 hours, since this is a highly technical class a majority of the time will be spent doing hands on skills. Class size is limited to 10 people. Some of the topics covered are: Knots, Anchor Points, Descent Devices, Ascenders, Ropes, Webbing, Patient Packaging, Hoisting, Mechanical Advantages, Pulley/Rope Systems, Knot Passing, Self Rescue, and Pick Offs.
Confined Space Rescue: This class is taught to OSHA and NFPA standards. Upon completion of this class participants will be able to participate as member of a confined space rescue team. Participants will learn the job of each position required to have a confined space rescue team: Incident Commander, Safety Officer, Hole Monitor, Team Leader, Rescuer. The class is 40 hours. Class size is limited to 10 people. Some topics covered are: Ventilation, Air Monitoring, Incident Command, Patient Packaging, Self Rescue. Participants will also learn to fill out Permit Required Confined Space paperwork used by your company.
